Melissa Joan Hart talks new memoir,
'Melissa Explains It All'

Melissa Joan Hart explained it all—from dating to bullies—in her groundbreaking role as Clarissa Darling on Clarissa Explains It All. She cast a spell on millions more viewers as Sabrina, the Teenage Witch. Now, in Melissa Explains It All, Melissa tells the frank and funny behind-the-scenes stories from her extraordinary past and her refreshingly normal present.
Melissa has been entertaining audiences most of her life; when there were no girls named Melissa on her favorite show, the forceful four year old decided she’d get on TV her way. Armen Keteyian and Jeff Benedict Nov. 5th

Book Talk with
Armen Keteyian and Jeff Benedict

November 5th 7:00pm - Book Talk
@ The New Canaan Library

The System: The Glory and Scandal of Big-Time College Football

Former longtime New Canaan resident and current CBS News correspondent Armen Keteyian and Sports Illustrated contributor Jeff Benedict, co-authors of the instant New York Times best-selling book "The System - The Glory and Scandal of Big-Time College Football," will discuss their work and conduct a book-signing on November 5th at 7 p.m. at the New Canaan Library.
"The System," which debuted at No. 12 on the Times hardcover non-fiction list in October, has received rave reviews. Dan Wetzel, an influential columnist for Yahoo! Sports, called it "the best book written on the sport in years," while New York Times columnist Harvey Araton described it as "a harrowing and uplifting journey - or literary trip through recent history and across the country's most football obsessed campuses." Jeff Jacobs, a columnist for the The Courant in Hartford, hailed the book as "one of the most sweeping yet meticulously researched books ever written on big-time college football."
Keteyian and his wife and two daughters spent 25 years in New Canaan before recently moving to Fairfield, CT.  While a resident here he was deeply involved in the creation of Dunning Field at Hawes Plaza. He is currently the lead correspondent for 60 Minutes Sports on Showtime and a contributing correspondent for 60 Minutes.
Benedict, a native of New London, CT., is a familiar face in New Canaan as well, having given speeches on two of his previous best-selling books, The Mormon Way of Doing Business and Little Pink House, at the library.
Together Benedict and Keteyian spent two years researching and writing "The System," conducting more than 500 interviews. The book takes the reader deep behind the scenes of mega-programs such as Alabama, Michigan and BYU, among many schools, while capturing the passion and sometimes shocking realities that lie beneath one of this country's most popular sports.

The Astronaut Wives Club

Don't miss author Lily Koppel at the New Canaan Library on September 12th, 7pm, 151 Main Street. Her latest book "The Astronaut Wives Club" is a fascinating read on the women linked to our earliest space explorers.
As America's Mercury Seven astronauts were launched on death-defying missions, television cameras focused on the brave smiles of their young wives. Overnight, these women were transformed from military spouses into American royalty. They had tea with Jackie Kennedy, appeared on the cover of Life magazine, and quickly grew into fashion icons. A great story in our American history.
