Earth Day 2010

Tomorrow is the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day! Lots has happened in those years, some good, some not so good. The positive side of the day lies in the huge amount of people who recognize the important role we play in the direction of our beautiful planet. The not so good in the actual damage we have inflicted on our environment. What was called the"greenhouse effect" 20 years ago has been recognized by the majority as global warming. Not a condition in our future, but a reality today. We need to become more engaged in the issues that surround our world. We need to commit to being part of the solution. Everyday we make choices that influence our world, simple ones, but multiplied over and over become substantial. Drive less, recycle, BYOB (Bring your own bag), use less petroleum based energy, support farmer's markets, plant a garden, encourage alternate energy development, buy a hybrid or electric car, plant a tree! Remember YOUR actions matter. Educate yourself.
